Bala Award

Joseph T. Dashiell Builder’s Inc. of Ocean City, Maryland recently won the “Best in American Living” silver award from the National Association of Home Builders for a home the company built on Bay Street in Fenwick Island, Delaware. The custom home won the award for Best One-of-a-kind Spec-Built Home up to 4,000 square feet. Overlooking Little Assawomen Bay, the Delaware home has porches, decks and balconies accessible by almost every room, combined with an inverted floor plan to enhance the indoor/outdoor Delaware beach lifestyle. Christopher Pattey, senior associate and W. Ronald Morgan, principal, were responsible for the design of this custom Delaware home. They work for the Becker Morgan Group in Salisbury, Maryland.

AIA Award

AIA Potomac Valley Chapter and Maryland Life Magazine held their 2007 Residential Design Awards in Olney Maryland on October 21, 2007. The Honor Award was presented to Chris Pattey and Ron Morgan, Principal of the Becker Morgan Group for Architectural design excellence for the “South Hamptons” Residence in Bishopville Maryland and for the “Grand Cottage” in Ocean City Maryland. Joseph T. Dashiell Builders Inc built both Homes.

Jury comments… "There's wonderful rigor in the design, especially with the front, the symmetry of the front and the range of forms and shapes that all tie together. And it's facing the water and picks up some nautical elements where it's sitting. Site responsive."

Grand Cottage Residence

Jury comments… "Love front elevation, has balance and exhibits a tremendous rigor in design and it appears balanced, the staggering of window sights and relating to the swooping roofs."
